Study the domestic arts while being encouraged to be a virtuous lady through the studies of Esther and Ruth: learn to sew, crochet, bake bread and make your own natural beauty products. As well as taking care of the farm animals, you will also learn the art of gardening, canning, freezing and drying foods for later use, putting up preserves and growing and using fresh herbs. Throughout the camp, you will create beautiful crafts for your home and finish with a formal tea party. Now offering a junior homemaker track for girls ages 7-11 years of age. Cost is the same but the day is slightly shorter.
- Day 1
DEVOTION – "Proverbs 31: The Wise Woman"
CRAFT DAY – On this first day of camp, each participant is assigned a bitter herb to be studied throughout the week. An oral report will be presented on Day 4 along with a sample of a recipe using the bitter herb (i.e. Red Clover Tea, Comfrey Salve, Peppermint Lip Balm). As a part of Craft Day, all participants will begin their watercolor stationery set, create a pressed flower project, and learn to crochet. The girls go home with their projects and the know-how to make many more.
- Day 2
DEVOTION – "Great Women of the Bible: Esther"
FOOD PRESERVATION DAY – Learning to freeze and dry fresh foods is our focus for the day. The girls will pick herbs from the herb garden and dry them for later use. They will also pick fresh fruits and vegetables, learn the art of drying and freezing them for future use, and make fruit preserves.
- Day 3
DEVOTION – "Great Women of the Bible: Esther"
NATURAL BEAUTY DAY – Enjoy making glamorous and luxurious beauty products using such items as lavendar, mint, aloe, beeswax, sea salts, cucumbers, yogurt and much more. Make homemade bath salts, scrubs, and facial products, and spend the day in Kingdom Academy's own natural healthy spa. We will also be providing manicures and pedicures. This is a very special day for everyone.
- Day 4
DEVOTION – "Great Women of the Bible: Esther"
GARDENING DAY – The delight of a homemaker can be her garden. Learning to select, plant, care and harvest the garden is the center of today's study. The Bitter Herb Project is due today and is shared in an informal tea party in the afternoon enjoying the harvest of the week's activities.

- Day 5
DEVOTION – "Great Women of the Bible: Ruth"
CRAFT DAY – Beginning the second half of the camp, the girls are assigned a sweet herb to be studied this week. At the formal tea on Day 8, all participants will share their recipes, the information they learned about their assigned herb, and most importantly prepare a dish to serve at the tea with their herb. This allows each participant to have an in-depth study of one sweet herb and still benefit from the studies of all the other participants. Since it is CRAFT DAY, the girls will gather and dry flowers and then create a dry flower table arrangement or wreath using previously dried flowers; they will also learn to make lye soap in the afternoon. They take home soap and their own beautiful dry flower creation.

- Day 6
DEVOTION – "Great Women of the Bible: Ruth"
FOOD PRESERVATION DAY – Today we gather fresh fruits and vegetables and make preserves, relish, sauces and take each item from its raw state to a sealed jar of food to be put away for later consumption. Each participant takes home some of the fruits of her labors.
- Day 7
DEVOTION – "Great Women of the Bible: Ruth"
HERB DAY – The herb garden is such a delightful place to spend the day. The girls sniff, cut, plant, take cuttings and use the herbs in a variety of ways today. Their first focus is to prepare their dish for the Tea Party on the following day. The girls also create a trivet using the herbs and grains, which gives them an opportunity to use a sewing machine. They collect and dry herbs to take home for future cooking projects while also taking cuttings and samples so that they may begin their own herb garden at home.
- Day 8
DEVOTION – "Great Women of the Bible: Ruth"
BAKING – This is a marvelous way to end the camp. The girls learn the value of using whole grains in all types of baking activities. They make pastries and bread and prepare to serve them in the afternoon as we close the day with a Formal Tea Party. The sweet herb project is due today.
