Mini-Camps for MTHEA Curriculum Fair May 16-17, 2008
Schedule of Events: All ages are listed as recommended, but not required. Instructors are flexible allowing for individual interests and abilities.

Friday, May 16th
9:30-10:30 a.m. Leather Works Class— participants of all ages enjoy the art of leather works, making a money pouch or leather wrist band—this class is a sampling from our Indian Days Camp. Students take home their projects. Two age groups: 5-11 years and 12-18 years. Cost: $5.00/participant
10:30 am-11:30 Simple Stitchery—this class is a sampling from our Proverbs 31 Camp Domestics Arts Camp. Cost: $4.00/participant (Includes all materials) Instructors will divide students into two age groups-Ages: 5-11 and 12 and up
12:30-1:30 pm Pioneer Toys and Games—make and play many of the different crafts, toys and games of the Pioneer era—this class is a sampling from Pioneer Days. Cost: $5.00/participant (Ages 5-14)
2:00 pm-3:00 Experience a Formal Tea Party—learn proper etiquette and enjoy a delightful sampling of teas made from fresh herbs. Participants take home herbs and recipes, and a desire for using manners and proper etiquette—sampling of Proverbs 31 Domestic Arts Camp. Cost: $5.00/participant. Offered to young ladies-ages 7 and up.
3:30-4:30 pm Try Spinning, Weaving or Braiding a Rug—this class is a sampling of our Pioneer Camp. Boys and girls alike enjoy working with the fibers at our Pioneer camps. Try your hand at carding wool, spinning wool on a drop spindle, weaving on a tabletop or cardboard loom or braiding your very own braided rug coaster. Cost: $5.00/participant (includes all supplies). Offered to ages 6 and up.
5:00-6:00 pm Victorian Days—Ballroom Dancing-come and enjoy learning the dances of the Victorian times. Bring your mom, dad, sibling or friend and enjoy learning the art of 1800’s style ballroom dancing. We will teach the Jolly Gordon, Virginia Reel, Patty Cake Polka, and several others. Fun fellowship for all ages- this class is a sampling of our Ballroom Gown sewing class which closes with a Mother/Son or Father/Daughter Ball. Cost: $3.00/participant
Saturday, May 17th
9:30-10:30 a.m. Studio Art Projects woven into Christian Worldview concepts, learn about the Fragmented 20th Century through a variety of Modern Art projects—sampling from Art and Christianity Camps. Cost: $5.00 (Includes all materials). Two age groups offered simultaneously: 5-11 years and 12-18 years
